Early in elementary school at Emma Conn: Gene Watkins suddenly fainting from the next to the highest row in the risers during a choral performance

5th grade: Carlton Cable telling Miss Weeks to "go to Haiti!" then quickly showing her where it was on the map

November afternoon in 6th grade: teacher, Mrs Perry, returning to a spot just inside the classroom after being asked out in the hall by Mr. Jefferson and saying "Boys and girls, our President has been shot."

7th Mr. Carroll's English class: Michael Lilly's expressive and greatly entertaining presentations of his themes.

Mrs. Beamer's 11th grade(?) English class: my buddy David Sugg beginning a presentation to the class by singing the first line of Barbara Lewis's song: "Are You Ready?"...with no one in the class singing "yes, I'm ready" back.

12th grade: a Mrs. Wilson-directed chorus doing the medley: Aquarius/Let the Sun Shine and Vernel (?) stepping out and getting into it...
